Thankful

A blizzard of snow is pouring down all around us and negative temperatures have kept us indoors today (including Dave with a snow day) and I am sitting in our warm cozy house drinking hot chocolate, for which I am so thankful! There are so many things we are thankful for that we take for granted but soon will not have. And yea, it will be hard, and there may be days where we will really miss our “normal” lives. But life is more than having a comfortable and easy life. It is about having a purpose driven life, and that purpose being to glorify God. We are so excited to be in a spot where we will be compelled to lean on God more than we ever have before.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lordwhose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

During Dave’s Christmas break, we got to spend a lot of time with family – something we will miss the most when we are in Kenya. But we are so thankful that there is Skype! (Back when my parents and grandparents lived in Africa, there was no way of communicating except through snail mail, which took weeks or even months!) We got to love on our brand new nephew, Asher, and visit with my Grandma from Texas, uncle from Massachusetts, cousins from Kentucky and New Jersey, and my brother who is living in Virginia! Lots of fun, games, sledding, football, good food, and laughter 🙂 So thankful for family and jobs that allow for vacation!

We are so excited for the peace that God has given us concerning support raising! So far we are around 19% for outgoing expenses and almost 35% for monthly support (you can see updates by clicking on the “Support: Where Are We?” tab). If you would like to support us, whether financially or through prayer, please click on the “Support: Join Our Team” tab!

Please pray for us that:

– we will pack the right stuff (as space is limited).

– we will have clarity and strength for upcoming speaking engagements.

– we will get our required audio Bible classes completed, as well as everything else on our checklist.

– we will make the right decisions about selling or renting our house.

– we will make the right decisions with where to send our dog, Lance.

– we will receive the needed support by our deadline, June 9!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support thus far! Such a blessing to have such special family and friends in our lives, and we are so excited to share in this ministry with you all!
